CREAMaid is for conversations with "happy customers".
Happy Customers bring more customers.
Now, does this mean that CREAMaid will let companies control the conversation?
As you are all aware, no company can control any conversation with their customers nowadays.
Each individual's power is stronger than ever in this era, and just using CREAMaid will not change anything about that.
So, if you want to see some negative perspectives, you can always go to a search engine and do a quick search, and they're all there.
We're not here to hide anything from anybody.
So, basically, what CREAMaid is aimed at is to help companies talk to their "happy customers" and carry on a blog-post-based conversation with them.
Controlling of (the whole) conversation will not and can not ever happen.
If the product is really bad and deserves some criticism in public, digg is there for you, reddit is there for you, hey, you can even use Plugaid! :)
CREAMaid is not about carrying on conversations with EVERY person who has tried the product. Here's the question: What would companies want?
Companies would want to hang onto happy customers and let them share their experiences with others so that people unfamiliar with their product can find out what type of experience they can expect.
Also, companies would want to talk to the unhappy customers individually so that their problems might be resolved. The "individually" part is important here. No company would want to publicize their negative perspectives themselves, especially through their main website.
I absolutely agree that talking to the unhappy customers is important as well.
In fact, it may be much more important than talking to the satisfied customers.
However, CREAMaid is not designed to do that kind of stuff. Using CREAMaid to do that will just worsen the problem.
If the companies started sharing unsatisfied customers' opinions in public (right on their website), what would happen?
You know that negative word-of-mouth spreads much faster than positive ones. It would be poison to companies. As I have mentioned, there are many tools for talking to unsatisfied customers, and CREAMaid is not for that. CREAMaid would be suspect if it didn’t require people to disclose the fact that their posts are connected to the company's website, and that the company has sent them reward for their support.
However, everybody using CREAMaid naturally and proudly discloses the fact that she/he is participating in that "happy users" conversation.
I don't think there is anything wrong with that. Now that everything is disclosed, people will write what they really mean because obviously, we all know that our credibility is more important than some money. However, what's wrong with, for example, a web columnist writing in her personal blog about this hamburger she enjoyed for lunch (maybe with some pictures), and earn some money for that? I don't think her readers will start to hate her for that.
CREAMaid is there to just let happy customers stay happy, and if the message is convincing enough, hopefully more potential customers would want to join the gang. Final words:
So, the answer is:
NO, CREAMaid will not let companies control public opinion.
CREAMaid is just a tool for helping companies to talk with their happy customers. You don't have to worry about it controlling any conversations. Companies can and should talk to their unhappy customers through many other routes, but CREAMaid is apparently not the tool to do that.
Also, all those other tools are so powerful that they would not let companies control the conversation using CREAMaid.
CREAMaid just wants to help the companies to stay close with their happy customers, and possibly extend their relationship with potential customers.
Also, there are many other uses for CREAMaid other than "reviews" or even "companies", which I plan to talk about later.
A knife is a tool, and it can be used for many purposes.
CREAMaid is a tool, and it can be used for many purposes.
Just because a tool can be dangerous, it doesn't mean that it will be useless. There clearly is usefulness in CREAMaid, and we will try hard to bring out the best of it, and at the same time, try hard to make those presumably bad scenarios not happen.
